Old Man Medicine is a folk and bluegrass outfit that joins many influences. Finding inspiration in the blending of many genres such as world music, folk songs, irish reels, french canadian traditionals and even a sprinkle of progressive rock, the band travels through time and space to bring you a new flavor of folk music.
It is with Roch Albert singing and playing the guitar, Dominic Gamelin playing the banjo and ukulele, Tim Savard on violin and Louis-Martin Richard on bass that the band presents its first album.
The album is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Roch Albert and Dominic Gamelin who wrote and composed all the songs found on the record.
The only exception to the rule being Le Reel de Mattawa, originally written by french canadian mythic figure Richard Forest.
Joined in the studio by harmonica player Pascal Per Veillette (Les Tireux d'Roches) and violin player Tommy Gauthier (Yves Lambert) the band was able to add to its ranks some first class players, bringing an extra touch of magic to the album.
Diversity, virtuosity as well as exceptional composition and songwriting are what makes the signature of Old Man Medicine; an inspiring project with surprises on every corner.

Old Man Medicine est un groupe de musique folk bluegrass aux influences multiples. Inspiré par la musique world, le trad. québécois, la musique irlandaise, la chanson folk et même le rock progressif ; le groupe saura vous faire voyager à travers différents styles pour donner une nouvelle saveur à la musique folk. Formé de Roch Albert au chant et à la guitare, Dominic Gamelin au banjo et au ukulélé, Tim Savard au violon et Louis-Martin Richard à la basse, le groupe vous présente son premier album.
Cet album est le fruit d’une étroite collaboration entre Roch Albert et Dominic Gamelin, qui ont composé tous les titres de ce premier opus. Pour honorer ses racines québécoises, le groupe a inclus une reprise du Reel de Mattawa composé par Richard Forest, figure phare de la musique traditionnelle au Québec. Avec comme artistes invités l’harmoniciste Pascal Per Veillette (Les tireux d’roches) et le violoniste Tommy Gauthier (Yves Lambert), le groupe a su s’entourer de musiciens hors paires pour donner une touche de magie à cet album. La diversité, la virtuosité ainsi que des compositions d’une qualité exceptionnelle sont la signature d’Old Man Medicine, un projet inspirant qui vous surprendra à coup sûr.
